Sunday Times / Behaviour & Attitudes Poll December 2018
23/12/182018 has been a significant year for Ireland from a social, political and economic perspective. In casting our mind back over the key events most likely to have shaped support levels for the various political groupings over the course of the year, a number of critical milestones emerge.
Perhaps the most seismic of all events in 2018 was the decision by two-thirds of the electorate to repeal the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution, thereby removing the ban on abortion in Ireland. Consumer Confidence Tracker September 2018
26/11/18Consumer confidence has dropped to post Brexit levels, with the same level of consumer confidence being reported inside and outside Dublin.
Dubliners appear to be driving this drop in consumer confidence as their level of confidence has dropped from +31% to +17% since July 2018. Dubliners also show a heightened sense of caution with regards to the value of personal assets, future savings and personal finances.
Those living outside Dublin have maintained their level of optimism however, and we are now seeing an identical level of consumer confidence both inside and outside Dublin.

Sinn Fein benefits as Independents continue to slide.
