Quite often we find that business people and professionals are happy to undertake a focussed, open-ended telephone interview, but may be reluctant to give over the time to meet a researcher face-to-face. That’s where we tend to recommend the use of telephone based in-depth interviews. An option when face-to-face depths are difficult to facilitate and/or as a subsidiary element of a larger project. Fieldwork is of course undertaken by a senior level and experienced qualitative conductor.
