Individual in depth interviews are qualitative face-to-face interviews conducted with a level of depth and detail not feasible in other interview methods.
They are used when we require a deeper probing of an individual perspective, or where there is a need to create a more confidential interaction , for example when we need to encourage more ‘sharing’ on sensitive topics.
They are also effective in delivering an ethnographic assessment of individual experiences in a relevant environment, whether that is in home, in the workplace or at point of sale. Executive interviews of this nature are also relevant in business to business studies for reasons of commercial sensitivity, respondent availability or seniority of respondent.
