Career

Lorna is Non-Executive Board member of B&A and principal of her consultancy company The Research Perspective, which provides research and consultancy services to enterprises and individuals in Ireland, the UK, and the United States since 2001.  Her clients include enterprises and regulators in the financial, telecoms, energy, retail, and health sectors.  Her most recent niche private consulting is to individuals in the technology, health, education, and not-for-profit sectors based in Silicon Valley, California, focused on leveraging company data and externally sourced data to develop and refine departmental and company strategy.

Highlights of her career have ranged from building the customer experience measurement functions for Bank of Ireland, and ESB Networks to leading the Credit Risk Measurement Team for Bank of Ireland into compliance with the EU Capital Requirements Directive to working with Stanford University data scientists on refining early diagnosis of autism to developing simple, easily implementable testing strategies for social media advertising measurement.

Methodologies & Qualifications

Dr Harding is passionate about giving data analytic output the gift of time and thought to develop an informed rhetoric and mythos necessary to inform decision-makers.  She is adept at deploying forensic analysis and provocative thinking in the space between data and strategy.  She is persuasive in creating elegant, engaging, simple and strategic stories.

She was awarded a PhD from the Departments of Statistics and Business, Economic and Social Studies, Trinity College Dublin, a Masters degree and Bachelors degree in Social Science from University College Cork, a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Dublin Business School, Postgraduate diplomas in Statistics, and Computer Modeling and Simulation from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Mediation from Dublin Business School.  She is also a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society of London.

Otherwise

With a passion for fitness, when not working Lorna is likely to be found street running, hill hiking or speed walking.  She also travels extensively, with a particular interest in Africa, where she volunteers in community development and education projects.
