Health and Housing Top Voter Concerns – Sunday Times
Health and Housing top voter concerns.
Last month’s Behaviour & Attitudes/Sunday Times Poll was conducted in the aftermath of negotiations on Phase 2 of the Brexit process, and the capitulation of Britain’s negotiators on a series of issues, not least being the avoidance of a hard North/South border post-Brexit.
The results of that December Poll confirmed the public’s satisfaction with Leo Varadkar’s role in safeguarding Ireland’s interests in those negotiations, and he regained his dominant position as most popular party leader in the country.
At the time of writing, the Dáil debate in relation to the forthcoming abortion referendum is still ongoing. By the time next month’s poll is conducted, all parties will have had a chance to air their views on the direction they feel the country should take regarding abortion, and it will be interesting to see what effect, if any, this dynamic will have on party support levels.
