Fianna Fail pulls ahead of Fine Gael in latest B&A poll
There are indications that the Government has been losing any grip it may have had on the support of ‘middle Ireland’, many of whom feel that they have yet to experience the benefits of the broader economic recovery.
Notwithstanding the year-on-year slippage in Government satisfaction, Leo Varadkar’s personal popularity rating as Taoiseach had increased five percentage points since last month to 45% today. In parallel with this uplift for the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin’s rating as leader of Fianna Fáil has also increased since the last poll, with both leaders now neck and neck at 45% satisfaction apiece.
