Fianna Fáil maintains steady lead over Fine Gael as Brexit D-Day looms. Sunday Times Poll
This month’s poll is interesting for a number of reasons. Firstly, it confirms that Fianna Fáil maintains a modest yet consistent lead over Fine Gael. Support for the Green Party has slipped back once more, albeit to a level which would still see the party make gains in the next election. Labour continues to struggle to gain traction, and Sinn Féin has recovered to its pre European and Local Election support levels.

At the time of writing, Ireland (represented primarily by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Tánaiste Simon Coveney) has managed to hold the line on the retention of the backstop clause within the withdrawal agreement, with the full and unequivocal support of the EU.
