Perception Analyser has been used widely in market research and particularly in political studies for more than 10 years. It is often credited with helping politicians to gauge the parts of speeches where attention is flagging, and to identify the sections or phrases that particularly resonate.
It is also used to capture second to second, individual reactions to advertising, whether in focus groups or indeed in more formal central location tests.
Wireless devices allow respondents to record their individual reactions in real time using a dial. Within seconds of the test, clients and respondents can see a composite line graph superimposed over the video material.
We can see immediately where there is a peak reaction or where things tail off. Respondents in a PA session get to review their own graph and add commentary to explain their reactions.
