The Healthcare practise at B&A is flourishing and has been a focus for particular development over the past decade. We work with many stakeholders from healthcare professionals and State agencies, to regulatory bodies, from Big Pharma to patient support groups. We balance the need for sensitivity and discretion with the requirement for rigour, precision and methodological excellence. We run a diverse array of studies: qualitative projects with patients and carers, focus groups and expert panels with HealthCare Professionals, quantitative surveys with the general public, professional and representative group members, as well as tracking studies for insurers and others. A recent overview of Irish women’s perspective of contraception attitudes and practises has been published for Bayer. Annual studies about mental health, focussing particularly on public perspectives of depression and anxiety, have been conducted for the Danish pharmaceutical specialist Lundbeck as well as a review of alcohol use and abuse. Significant qualitative projects on smoking by teenage girls and parental perspectives of childhood nutrition and obesity have been run to help shape public policy initiatives and State campaigns. Infant nutrition is a significant focus, Ireland being one of the few countries with a strong birth rate and many new mums and babies. Regular projects for the Medical Council, the Irish Medical Organisation, the Irish Pharmacy Union and the Irish Dental Association among others help to keep these bodies abreast of public and member perspectives of their role or broad area. We aim to bring to the healthcare arena the skills, competencies and and expertise that we have honed and developed in the more advanced and developed fields of fmcg and consumer goods research.
